Actress Min Ji-young confessed that her thyroid cancer recurred.
On the 19th Min Ji-young released content titled "The story I couldn't tell while living in a camper for 3 years" on her YouTube channel Min Ji-young TV MJYTV.
Min Ji-young said, "We drove nearly 700 km from the port city of Algeciras, Spain, to the long-term parking lot near Madrid international airport. We left Choco here for a while and our three-person family is going to Korea for a short trip," she began.
She continued, "Time passed so quickly that already another year has gone by. It's time for me to go to Korea briefly to get a cancer screening. The best scenario, and the one I wanted so much, was that after five years since my thyroid cancer surgery there would be no more problems in my body and I would be declared cured of thyroid cancer, which was the picture I dreamed of, but it can't be helped," she said.
Min Ji-young said, "Currently cancer cells have been found in my left thyroid, and I was monitoring them, and although five years have passed since the surgery, this time I will not be able to receive a declaration of complete recovery from thyroid cancer. It can't be helped," adding, "As a person, sometimes I feel like I'm carrying a time bomb inside my body, sometimes I suddenly feel depressed, I get tired quickly, and I also experience severe swelling at times," she said, revealing her current condition.
She added, "There were many days when I was exhausted and struggling, but I am so grateful that the happy viruses in my body are far stronger than the cancer cells growing in me, so I think I've been able to travel with all of you with a consistently joyful and thankful heart."
Min Ji-young said, "I'll have to enter Korea this time to get tests and confirmation, but I'm really grateful that thyroid cancer grows so slowly, so I think this time they'll just check that my condition is similar and I'll return and continue this trip."
Min Ji-young married show host Kim Hyung-gyun, who is two years her junior, in 2018, and in 2021 she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and has undergone surgery and other treatments. She shares and communicates on YouTube showing scenes of traveling the world in a camper with her husband.
