Gu Hye-seon said she gave up the pleasures of being a big eater because of malicious comments.
On the 18th, Gu Hye-seon appeared on MBN's Kim Ju-ha's Day and Night (hereinafter Day and Night).
Proud of the title "former ulzzang," Gu Hye-seon explained, "It was on the front page of the newspaper. It said a fandom had formed. It exceeded tens of thousands. This is how I debuted."
Kim Ju-ha praised her, saying she looked the same while looking at her high school photos, and Gu Hye-seon added that she weighed in the 30-kilogram range in high school and that her weight now is different. Gu Hye-seon said she was very thin as a child. Asked whether there was a separate "ulzzang angle," Gu Hye-seon shyly answered, "When I was young, I looked beautiful no matter how I was photographed."
Gu Hye-seon said she climbed the Himalayas last April. She said, "At that time I had lost 18kg. The leading digit of my weight changed from 6 to 4. I thought I had a body type that didn't gain weight. Now I gain weight according to what I eat," prompting laughter.
Gu Hye-seon said that after exercising she gets very hungry and eats about three packs of ramen and two bowls of rice. She said, "I became a healthy pig. In 24 years of broadcasting I had never received the malicious comment 'pig,' but I heard 'you're a pig' for the first time. As soon as I heard that, I stopped eating."
Recalling how much of a big eater she had been, Gu Hye-seon added, "At the Himalayas I ate everything with the mindset of being rewarded. I even ate horse feed. I ate all the cookies and sugar cubes."
