Singer Lee Sora colored Friday night with resonant emotion, high-class live performances and witty banter.
On the 17th, Lee Sora appeared as a guest on KBS 2TV music talk show The Seasons-Sung Si-kyung's Ear Candy after returning to the music scene for the first time in seven years. Appearing amid host Sung Si Kyung's warm introduction, Lee Sora, despite it being her first broadcast appearance in a long time, showcased her characteristic aura and witty banter.
Upon her entrance, Lee Sora opened with the new song "I will forget your face entirely," composed by Jannabi. After the live performance, Lee Sora shyly said, "The song was so beautiful that I received the composition in March, wrote the lyrics in May and released it," adding, "I didn't sing it many times in the studio and finished quickly, so I don't know if my feeling was well conveyed to the audience."
She then passionately sang the universally acclaimed song "To you who do not love me," filling the audience with deep emotion in an instant. When Sung Si Kyung asked, "This is your first broadcast appearance in six years since your first appearance. Did you watch the broadcast?", Lee Sora replied, "I'm embarrassed so I don't often watch my broadcasts, but I did this time," adding, "I smiled when I read a comment on the 'Blue inside you' stage saying, 'This is the value of KBS license fees.'"
Recently meeting the public as a special DJ on MBC radio's Two O'Clock Date, Lee Sora also expressed a special affection for it. She said, "I want to do well for people with my voice and songs," adding, "Talking with listeners and sharing stories in real time on radio feels better and more comfortable than when I sing," and shared her happy recent news.
The highlight of the talk that day was Sung Si Kyung's appearance analogy. Regarding Lee Sora's remark in a pre-interview that Sung Si Kyung is "like a sink countertop," she burst out laughing, saying, "I told you not to say it, but you said it anyway," and offered a cheerful explanation. She explained, "I wanted to say something like smooth marble or porcelain without a single vein, but the word that actually came to mind was sink countertop," and boasting their close "true friend chemistry" with Sung Si Kyung turned the studio into a sea of laughter.
Lee Sora also said, "I have always released love songs and albums in autumn or winter, but this time I wanted to release a song in summer and asked Jannabi to write a song quickly," adding, "Jannabi's album was so great that I called vocalist Choi Jung Hoon directly and sent a love call saying, 'Shall we do one sad love song together?'" which surprised everyone.
A surprise video message from Jannabi to Lee Sora was shown, adding to the emotion, and Lee Sora, in response to their gratitude, reinterpreted Jannabi's "She" in her own distinctive color and delivered a heartfelt performance.
Finally, about her feelings working with The Seasons, Lee Sora concluded the stage with warm thanks, saying, "It was so nice. If the audience claps comfortably and someone like Sung Si Kyung talks comfortably, I think I might appear on other broadcasts. It was such a kind show."
