"'Heart Signal 4' Lee Ju-mi candidly shared her thoughts on plastic surgery."
On the 15th, a video titled "Something clearly changed…(my first exploration of my appearance)" was uploaded to the "Turtle Lee Ju-mi" channel.
That day, Lee Ju-mi said, "The reason I prepared this video is because it's summer, so many people look for videos about dieting, appearance, and self-care, and I'm curious too, and for those reasons and lately you all have been saying 'you look prettier,' 'what did you do?' and giving compliments, and this is a story I have never covered on YouTube. But there is a lot of interest. As someone who likes taking care of myself and dressing up, I have many things I want to talk about," she said.
She said, "This video started from the thought that rather than listing information like 'I actually had plastic surgery here' or 'this procedure is good,' I wanted to comfortably talk about how I view external, outward things and perspectives and hear your thoughts," she confessed.
Later, Lee Ju-mi shared her thoughts on plastic surgery and everyday maintenance methods. Then she mentioned her own plastic surgery experience and frankly said, "I had plastic surgery. I had eye surgery. Last fall I had buried double-eyelid surgery."
She said, "I originally had overlapping double eyelids. Two on this side, four on that side. Because there were multiple creases, it became hard to open my eyes, so I decided on double-eyelid surgery and had buried suture surgery to make it into one crease. While I was at it, I also did lower eyelid fat removal. Five months later, in March of this year, I had a revision surgery. Only the left side was revised. They said they would do surgery for ptosis. It turned out my eyes were slightly pressed down because of ptosis. Because of the interaction between the double-eyelid folds, my eyes didn't open well, so I kept lifting my eyebrows to open them. So when you look at my old photos, one eyebrow is higher. I didn't know. But when I went to the hospital they explained it was like that," she confessed.
She continued, "At that time the director said ptosis surgery ties the eye to the fascia. Once the strength is supported, the eyebrow will immediately drop and it will be much easier to open the eyes. My eye condition then was that as the suture came undone it settled on a higher line than the original double eyelid. It was swollen like someone who cried a lot, and because the double-eyelid line was thicker it looked stranger than before," she explained the reason for the revision surgery.
Lee Ju-mi said, "Anyway, I had ptosis surgery. There were functional inconveniences, and aesthetically I looked dull and hollow-eyed, so I had eye surgery to correct those issues. So if you ask whether I'm satisfied with the surgery, I'm very, very satisfied. In conclusion, I had double-eyelid surgery and lower eyelid fat removal. I wasn't someone who put on heavy makeup, but the part I never skipped was concealer. My dark circles were very severe. After removing the fat under the eyes, there was no need to cover the dark circles. My base routine is almost just sunscreen or CC cream sometimes, and the basic makeup steps were drastically reduced. So morning prep time shortened and I started aiming for a more transparent and clean makeup look," she said, describing the positive effects.
She added, "The biggest point that probably makes you feel recently like 'something seems different, you look prettier' is that by removing some makeup, a thinner, more transparent natural skin tone comes through. I think that's why people feel it suits me better," she expressed satisfaction.
Meanwhile, Lee Ju-mi gained recognition after appearing on Channel A's dating reality show "Heart Signal 4" in 2023, and she is currently active as an influencer on YouTube and other platforms.<
