I Live Alone Lee Ju-seung said he made a donation following his grandfather's wishes.
On the 17th episode of MBC entertainment program I Live Alone, Lee Ju-seung was shown visiting his grandmother's house with his mother.
That day Lee Ju-seung said, "My grandmother couldn't feel it after my grandfather passed away. She said she still feels like my grandfather is next to her. Lee Ju-seung's grandfather passed away on Feb. 22 at the age of 97. The deceased was a veteran of the June 25 war and worked as an elementary school teacher, and was known to have been a devoted teacher.
Lee Ju-seung said, "My grandmother couldn't grasp it after my grandfather passed away. She said she kept feeling like my grandfather was beside her. I planned to take care of her meals until 100 days after my grandfather, but his birthday was not far off, so I took care of her until his birthday," he explained.
After finishing the meal with his grandmother, Lee Ju-seung said, "Grandfather always called me 'Director Lee.' I entered a competition where directors competed. I won there. first place," and handed over the winning trophy.
Lee Ju-seung's grandmother cried, saying, "You did well," and "Thank you. Just be healthy. Health is the best. Your grandfather would be pleased,". In response, Lee Ju-seung expressed regret, saying, "Grandfather always called me 'Director Lee,' but he passed away before seeing it."
In particular, when Lee Ju-seung's grandfather appeared on a past broadcast, he said, "You have to share, give and volunteer." Lee Ju-seung revealed the reason for his donation, saying, "I won first place and received prize money, and I donated it all. Grandfather told me to volunteer."
Lee Ju-seung recalled, "Since my grandfather first directed my short film, he said I would succeed as a director and called me 'Director Lee.' My grandfather passed away while I was writing the final script for the survival program."
He added, "I composed myself after the award, steadied my mind and continued writing. I think I immersed myself more to forget the sadness about my grandfather. It also feels like my grandfather helped me."
Afterward, Lee Ju-seung placed the donation certificate and the trophy in front of his grandfather's photo to share the news. He said, "Thanks to my grandfather, I received a good award and I'm grateful. Because my grandfather served and treated others so well and inspired respect, I donated the entire amount. It feels like I did it by embracing my grandfather's spirit, so it's an award my grandfather received," which moved people.
Meanwhile, Lee Ju-seung recently won the top prize in the short drama director survival program Director's Arena for his distinctive thriller direction. And he donated the entire 100 million won prize to the Seoul single-parent family welfare facility association, drawing attention.<
