Actor Lee Dong-ha showcased the essence of suffocating villain action in "Manager Kim."
The presence of Lee Dong-ha in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Manager Kim," which continues its relentless rise in ratings, is striking. In the drama, Lee Dong-ha portrays 'Chief Nam,' the closest aide to Joo Gang-chan (Joo Sang-Wook), chairman of Juhak Construction, and every time he appears with cold eyes and unique charisma he raises the tension of the story.
In the episode 6 broadcast, Chief Nam (played by Lee Dong-ha) opened with a powerful salvo of brutality as he single-handedly subdued the special mission bureau agents surrounding Joo Gang-chan's villa. After delivering a polite but threatening expression and saying, "This is private property. Please leave immediately," he completely subdued the agents with relentless attacks, chilling viewers to the bone.
Chief Nam's chilling intimidation reached its peak in episode 7, which aired on the 17th. Charging without hesitation into a large container carrying the sleeping Min-ji, Chief Nam engaged in a suffocating standoff with Park Jin-cheol (played by Yoon Kyung-ho). Engaged in bare-knuckle combat with heavy punches that landed on the opponent's face, when he was overwhelmed by Park Jin-cheol's overwhelming power he ultimately drew a knife and unleashed a frenzied, chilling attack that exploded the drama's tension.
Though his tone is polite, Chief Nam's rough fists and double-sided nature and piercing gaze were more than enough to dominate the screen. The perfect action chemistry exchanged with Yoon Kyung-ho made viewers' palms sweat and immediately became the episode's best scene. Viewers also praised, "Every time Lee Dong-ha appears the mood changes dramatically," "the container action felt like watching a movie," and "I got goosebumps the moment he drew the knife."
Having distinguished himself with a monstrous villain performance, Lee Dong-ha's future appearances and what further intense aura he will use to captivate viewers are drawing attention.
Meanwhile, Lee Dong-ha met Girl's Day member So-jin through the 2021 film "Ghost Mansion" and developed a romantic relationship, and they married in Nov. 2023.<
