Comedian Hwang Hyun-hee clarified the title of "100 billion asset holder."
On the 17th, a video titled "Attention from stock beginners to Go Soo! Hwang Hyun-hee's investment know-how finally revealed" was posted on the YouTube channel Lee Hong-ryeol TV.
That day Lee Hong-ryeol spent time asking various questions to guest Hwang Hyun-hee.
First, Lee Hong-ryeol asked Hwang Hyun-hee, who had the epithet "100 billion asset holder," whether his assets really were 10 billion won.
In response Hwang Hyun-hee said, "I felt that there was no point in me talking about amounts. Whenever I say something, that's the amount. An article comes out saying '100 billion asset holder Hwang Hyun-hee.'"
He continued, "At first I said I earned more than ten times what I made as a comedian. Because of investing. I said things like that, but on a program called 'Dolsing Fourmen' it said '100 billion asset holder.' I felt like broadcasters had tricked me again. The writers tricked me," and "I clearly said it. I said I would prefer if they didn't do that. But they have to attract clicks there. And they have to make articles," he explained.
In particular he said, "I wanted to show the process (of investment success), how someone with a job falls off a cliff and climbs back up and to talk about the right direction of investing, but whenever I do something it's 10 billion. So it becomes burdensome and I'm sorry. Who would like it if a once-popular comedian whose face is known comes out having made money. The stock market is extremely polarized. But when an article says someone made money, wouldn't people be angry? I'm having a hard time. They don't see the process and just think about this 10 billion," he lamented.
He added, "I'm very cautious about talking, so these days I don't appear on variety shows at all because of this. I really want people to understand the process. Even if I say that, articles will still come out that way and seniors will make thumbnails like that."
Lee Hong-ryeol asked, "How would you like to be introduced?" and Hwang Hyun-hee emphasized, "I think the essence doesn't change. I am a comedian. I think conveying knowledge is one way to make people laugh. I'm just comedian Hwang Hyun-hee. I'm a comedian who can handle economics well and current affairs well."
