SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Manager Kim,' which surpassed a 22% viewership rating, has confirmed a special broadcast ahead of its finale, with 'father universe' So Jisub, Choi Dae-hoon and Yoon Kyung-ho also appearing.
On the 17th, OSEN reported that the 10-episode Manager Kim will end on the 25th and will be presented as a special in the last week of July. The special broadcast is reported to include behind-the-scenes videos from episodes 1 to 10, as well as interview material with the director and lead actors So Jisub, Choi Dae-hoon and Yoon Kyung-ho. In addition to the three actors, various interviews with the supporting cast who were active in the drama and behind-the-scenes making videos that were not shown on TV will be revealed for the first time.
Earlier, SBS said the welcome news that Manager Kim will soothe the disappointment of being only 10 episodes with a special.
An SBS official told OSEN, "It is correct that two special episodes of Manager Kim will be broadcast. However, the specific content is still under discussion," and refrained from elaborating, though it was reported that the recent composition direction has been finalized.
The Manager Kim special is scheduled to be released under the title Manager Kim: The Universe on July 31 and Aug. 1.
Meanwhile, according to Netflix's official site Tudum, Manager Kim recorded 9,100,000 view counts (the number of views divided by the total running time of the work) and 59,100,000 viewing hours, maintaining the No. 1 spot for two consecutive weeks on the global top 10 non-English shows. It ranked No. 1 in 22 countries, including Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Oman, Qatar, Morocco, Bolivia, Peru, Nigeria and Mauritius, and appeared on the top 10 lists of 72 countries.
Manager Kim has passed the halfway point and is heading into its second half while its ratings are rising sharply. By episode 6, according to Nielsen Korea, it recorded 23.2% in the Seoul metropolitan area, 22.3% nationwide and a peak of 26.4%, setting a new personal best. Except for the highest rating of 29.2% by The Penthouse 2, the all-time No. 1 SBS Friday-Saturday drama, it currently ranks second, and expectations are rising about whether it can break the fabled 30% mark.<
