A large-scale project to firmly support small venues and promising musicians, the bedrock of Korea's popular music, is about to begin.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is sponsoring and the Korea Music Label Industry Association (LIAK) is organizing the 2026 small-scale popular music performance revitalization support project, "2026 LALALA ON," which has officially announced its opening and is recruiting small venues and musicians nationwide.
Under the slogan "Various music, moments together," "2026 LALALA ON" is designed to match and support small popular music venues and popular musicians with high potential, aiming to help recover disparities in activity and revitalize the popular music performance sector.
Through this project, a total of 50 main performances will take place, involving 53 small popular music venues nationwide and 159 musician acts, along with three special curated performances.
Launched in 2023 and now in its fourth year, "LALALA ON" has cemented itself as a unique cooperative performance in the popular music world, expanding both in scale and substance year by year.
After a spectacular start with every show sold out in its first year, it has served as a solid pillar of the grassroots music ecosystem by organically linking hundreds of indie musicians and small venues nationwide. It is especially praised for going beyond simple performance support to lead genre diversification in popular music, create jobs and revitalize local culture, bringing new energy to the broader pop music industry.
The raw emotion of live music will reach audiences across the country. The distinctive melodies that will resound in small venues around the nation, crossing regional and genre boundaries, and encounters with unfamiliar artists are LALALA ON's greatest attractions.
Proving the value of dense communication, this LALALA ON will run for about three months from Sept. to Nov.<
