Actor Koo Hye-sun appears on MBN Kim Ju-ha's Day and Night and opens up candidly about her failures and successes as a "pro multiple job holder" and the misunderstandings surrounding her.
In episode 34 of the MBN talk show Kim Ju-ha's Day and Night, airing on the 18th at 9:40 p.m., Koo Hye-sun, who recently transformed into the CEO of a hair roll brand that has been selling out, appears to tell of her second life as a businesswoman.
The hair roll Koo Hye-sun introduced is an eco-friendly product that can be recycled, received a patent and even succeeded in entering duty-free shops, but some controversy arose over its price. In response, Koo Hye-sun honestly explained, "Our product is somewhat pricey because factory-style processing is difficult. Much of it is hand-processed and requires up to the fourth stage of processing."
She confessed, "Because I was someone who practiced art before making products, art's pricing is very subjective. I had to break away a bit from that subjectivity and calculate how many times the price needs to be multiplied to make it profitable." She added, "I think I started studying money. I realized, 'I knew nothing about money,' " expressing sincere growth as she learned the harsh realities of being a businesswoman.
Koo Hye-sun also confronted long-standing misunderstandings that followed her. In response to the question, "There were many comments like 'pathological liar' or 'words come before actions,' " she candidly admitted, "I heard that a lot," drawing attention.
Still, Koo Hye-sun confessed, "Speaking it out seems important. If I don't say it, it won't happen because I didn't say it. This is me knowing myself. I can be very lazy." She deliberately spoke first so she would have to keep herself to it, and as she tried to keep those promises, things she spoke about came true, a bold confession that reportedly made everyone present nod in agreement.
A detached self-assessment as a 20-year film director followed, leaving a deep impression. Koo Hye-sun calmly said of the films she directed, "They all failed," but then offered a twist, saying, "That failure was successful." She revealed a strong inner resilience, saying, "Failure gave me depth and made my resolve stronger, so I'm not so afraid of failure anymore," and that she won't stop challenging herself.
Discussing success and failure in a serious tone, Koo Hye-sun disarmed the set with her quirky charm toward the end of the broadcast. When anchor Kim Ju-ha asked about goals she wants to achieve in the future, after long consideration she surprised the studio with the unexpected answer, "to resist my appetite," causing the studio to burst into laughter.
