The pre-released new song "GimmeSummer☆" captivates the ear with a mood different from the group's previous Japanese original songs that emphasized cute and lovable charms. This time, by putting the members' fresh and lively energy at the forefront, it conveys the thrill of standing in the middle of a fresh summer to listeners.
Boosted by the pre-release, UNIS plans to raise comeback excitement by releasing the full music video for "GimmeSummer☆" at 7 p.m. that evening. Since the previously released teaser depicted the fresh and radiant friendship of girls on a school trip and piqued global fans' curiosity, attention is focused on the special youth story only UNIS will show in the full music video.
The group's first Japanese mini album "UNI☆Sparkle!", officially released on the 31st, sensibly infuses Y2K mood Japanese pop culture across the album, maximizing UNIS's sparkling identity that appeals to all generations.
In addition to the title track "GimmeSummer☆" and the included track "BBYBBY", the album is packed with value for collectors with the first Japanese digital single "moshimoshi♡", the second digital single "mwah…" and a Japanese version of the Korean promotional song "SWICY".
The title track "GimmeSummer☆" is UNIS's first summer song, capturing the real youth of busy teenage girls juggling love and friendship. It charmingly expresses the unique excitement and wistfulness of summer from the members' perspective. In particular, Kanata Okajima, who worked with BTS and M!LK, and Carlos K., who worked on Ikuta Lira's "Koikaze(恋風)", joined forces to promise the birth of a well-made summer song.
UNIS has steadily strengthened its distinct position in Japan by consistently presenting original songs, from the collaboration single "Shaking My Head" with Japanese singer-songwriter noa to "moshimoshi♡" and "mwah…".<
