Actor Jang Seo-hee returns as the architect of desire.
The new KBS 2TV daily drama "A Trap Called Desire," which premieres on Aug. 10 (directed by Lee Dae-kyung and Jeong Gwang-soo, written by Koo Ji-won), is a revenge drama about a woman who is framed for murder and has her life stolen, who fights against enormous desires to reclaim her destiny.
In particular, Jang Seo-hee, who earned the nickname "queen of daily dramas" with numerous hits such as "The Mermaid" and "Temptation of a Wife," marks her KBS return after 12 years, drawing strong interest even before the broadcast.
Jang Seo-hee plays Joo Mi-ran, who will not hesitate to destroy others' lives for her own desires. Having shown a powerful presence as the agent of revenge in previous revenge dramas, Jang Seo-hee signals a shocking transformation in this work as a villain who is both the starting point of all events and the target of revenge.
The teaser poster released on the 16th symbolically captures Joo Mi-ran's dangerous desires and overwhelms the eye. Surrounded by countless hands and staring straight ahead, Joo Mi-ran's image hints at ambition and secrets hidden behind a gentle face. The hands that seem to bind her symbolize the desires and obsessions Joo Mi-ran created, and ultimately the price of greed that will turn toward her, adding tension.
Especially striking is Jang Seo-hee's intense visual, staring directly with an unshaken gaze with one eye covered. The copy "If it is a life I must have, by any means necessary" fully reveals Joo Mi-ran's ruthless side that will not hesitate at any choice for her goal, provoking curiosity.
