Singer MC MONG personally revealed his concert schedule and declared a return to activity. However, the venue said the rental process has not yet proceeded, leaving the actual holding of the concert uncertain.
MC MONG recently said on a TikTok live broadcast, "I'm finally doing a concert. Aug. 14, Aug. 16 at Yes24 Live Hall. It's less than a month away. You'll finally meet me," announcing plans for a comeback show.
After the live broadcast ended, the related schedule also spread through a fan account. The post said there would be one performance each on Aug. 14 and 16 at Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul.
However, separate from the comeback declaration, the concert schedule has reportedly not yet been officially confirmed. According to SBS Entertainment News, Yes24 Live Hall said, "So far, we have received no separate inquiries regarding an MC MONG performance, and the rental has not been made."
The official website of Yes24 Live Hall also has no performance schedule posted for the dates MC MONG mentioned. Aug. 14 and 16 are reportedly marked as dates currently available for rental applications.
Meanwhile, the announcement drew attention as the first concrete comeback plan since MC MONG said last year that he was suspending activities and became embroiled in multiple controversies. In May last year, MC MONG said he would step down from producer duties at Onehundred and Big Planet Made due to depression and deteriorating health.
At the time, he said, "Severe depression, surgery, and deteriorating health made it hard to make music," adding, "This year I will definitely release a new album, do a concert, and then study abroad."
Since then, MC MONG has continued to communicate with fans mainly through TikTok live broadcasts. In the process, while denying allegations of embezzling company funds and gambling, he also reignited controversy by naming some entertainment industry figures and alleging illegal gambling.
There were also reports of a 12 billion won money transaction and alleged conflict with Onehundred Chairman Cha Ga-won, as well as suspicions of gifts worth 10 billion won.
MBC "PD Note" reported allegations that the 12 billion won that Chairman Cha lent to MC MONG was used to pay off gambling debts. MC MONG said, "There is no fact that I gambled with company money," flatly denying the claims.
