Singer Song Ji-eun confessed how she has changed since marrying her husband Park Wi.
On the 15th, a video titled "If you love each other, like this couple! | singer Song Ji-eun | wonderful woman" was uploaded to the YouTube channel CTS Christian TV.
Song Ji-eun shared sweet newlywed news that day. She said, "I was a quiet child and grew up as an only daughter. I rarely laughed out loud, but these days I laugh a lot and always smile. Married life is fun. I have no time to be bored, there is always someone to talk to, and it always feels like playing house," expressing her happiness.
Song Ji-eun also said she used to have low self-esteem, noting, "When people placed me in a certain position, I became that kind of person. I always struggled to be loved, thinking 'How can I be loved more? Why was I loved when I was first?', so the Song Ji-eun I knew disappeared. It felt empty," as she reflected on her past.
About her husband Park Wi, she said, "He has a very strong sense of independence. He has an enormous desire to do things on his own and is independent," adding that she has come to know his independence better after marriage than during dating.
When the remark 'Park Wi said he was surprised that his wife was a very different person after marriage' came up, Song Ji-eun began, "There was a time when my husband was actually very surprised." Earlier, Park Wi had said, "Ji-eun was a yes girl during dating, but it turned out that half of the things she disliked."
Song Ji-eun said her parents were strict, revealing, "From a young age they valued others, manners and consideration more than me. So I had a 'good child' complex. I couldn't easily express opinions that went against the mainstream, couldn't stick to my thoughts, and followed the majority opinion," she confessed. She added, "Even when we were dating, because I wanted to be loved and adored by my husband, even if my opinion was different, if he suggested something to eat I would say, 'Sure, let's eat that,' and mostly tailored dates to him. But after marriage it quietly became tiring," she said frankly.
She went on, "During dating I could go home and do what I wanted alone, but in marriage you come home and your husband is there, so you have to keep being considerate of this person. Even if the other person never demanded consideration. Because I was matching what my husband wanted most of the time, one day I must have looked tired and it showed on my face. When my expression was off, he asked why and I said, 'Oppa, I actually don't like some foods, and during dating I followed what you wanted, but I also have things I want to do,' and he was so surprised. He thought, 'There is no one who matched me as well as Ji-eun,' so he married me. Food preferences, the way we look at people, how we interpret situations, hobbies, and so on. Mostly, things didn't match,' she said.
She said, for example, she didn't particularly like gambas, which is Park Wi's favorite dish, and "He was very surprised. But that was a short moment, and he looked at me with sad eyes and asked, 'Have you lived like that until now? Have you always lived to satisfy others?' Then he told me, 'From now on, be honest in front of me.' He listened to and accepted Ji-eun's feelings and said, 'Let's live a life you are also satisfied with,' so I tell him everything honestly," indicating they have compromised and are living married life in mutually desired ways.
Meanwhile, Song Ji-eun and Park Wi were married in October last year. Park Wi was diagnosed with paralysis of the entire body after a fall in 2014 but regained the ability to move his upper body through rehabilitation, and he continues to work to improve disability awareness through various activities.
