"Model Kim Young-ah, who became known through 'Nonstop 3,' revealed her daily life after marriage and divorce."
Kim Young-ah appeared on Japan's TV Asahi variety show "After my husband falls asleep" on the 14th and spoke about changes in her marital relationship after childbirth and her current situation following the divorce.
She married a Korean man in April 2009 but divorced in June 2013, and in 2014 she remarried a businessman 12 years her senior. After announcing her pregnancy in July 2016, she gave birth to her son Do-a in December of that year, but she experienced a second divorce in 2023.
On the show, Kim Young-ah recalled, "I was emotionally unstable for three years after giving birth. Until then I only thought about work, but my priorities changed to focus on the child to the point that people around me were worried. I thought I had to do something before the baby cried, so I was on alert from 2:30 a.m. anticipating waking up around 3 a.m."
This inevitably led to changes in her marital relationship. Kim Young-ah said, "There were times we went on dates just the two of us, but I felt uneasy, thinking 'Is it all right to leave the child and go eat?' During the daycare adjustment period I kept looking into the facility worrying about the child, and I was told that this behavior is transmitted to the child. So while other children did not cry, only our child cried and drew attention."
Regarding her relationship with her ex-husband, Kim Young-ah said, "He lives nearby, so on weekends the child spends time with his father," saying they are maintaining an amicable relationship.
Kim Young-ah debuted in 2003 playing Choi Young-ah, the younger sister of Choi Minyong, in the sitcom "Nonstop 3." Having worked through productions such as "A woman who wants to get married" and "Long live love," Kim Young-ah moved into Japan where she gained attention through modeling activities. In 2010 she filmed a beverage commercial in Japan with Choi Ji-woo and was selected as an honorary tourism ambassador for Korea.
