Audition program winner Lim Young-woong and Roy Kim previewed their first duet stage. Even in practice they showed a fully formed harmony, raising expectations.
The episode of the SBS variety show 'mountain bachelor Young-woong' airing on the 14th will feature new members Kwak Beom, Nucksal and Roy Kim joining Lim Young-woong to spend a day in the mountains.
That day the members called Lim Young-woong "the king of company dinners," livening the mood, and Lim Young-woong drew attention by revealing his own method for making soju-and-beer mixed drinks.
When the talk turned to alcohol, Roy Kim said, "I usually don't drink much. I only drink on days I don't sing," and confessed, "When I drink, my pitch drops about half an octave." Lim Young-woong agreed, saying, "I also notice a difference when I drink and sing," and Roy Kim added, "If it's bad, it can drop by a whole octave." Lim Young-woong laughed, saying, "Still, it doesn't affect making the feeling," and Roy Kim echoed, "That's right," continuing the warm atmosphere.
Then a game was played with dishwashing at stake, and Lim Young-woong teamed up with Roy Kim and Nucksal to compete. Meanwhile Heo Kyunghwan provoked laughter by clutching his cellphone instead of playing the game.
Above all, the highlight of that day's broadcast was the first duet between Lim Young-woong and Roy Kim. The two held an impromptu rehearsal in the mountains to sing "A Melody for You" together. Matching their breath naturally to Roy Kim's guitar accompaniment, they delivered a level of harmony so complete it was hard to believe it was practice, and the members watching poured out praise. When the song ended, the members couldn't hide their surprise, saying, "What, that was practice?", and reacted enthusiastically with comments like "That's cool" and "I'm swept up in romance."
With the first duet stage of the two vocalists who rose to the top through audition programs previewed, the full version of "A Melody for You" is scheduled to be revealed in next week's broadcast.
