"Manager Kim" enjoyed the joy of being global No. 1 for a second week thanks to soaring viewership.
SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Manager Kim" recorded 9,100,000 views (the number of views divided by the show's total running time) and 59,100,000 viewing hours, maintaining its No. 1 position on the global top 10 non-English shows list. It ranked No. 1 not only in Korea but also in Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Oman, Qatar, Morocco, Bolivia, Peru, Nigeria, Mauritius and 22 other countries, and it appeared on the top 10 list in 72 countries.
Earlier, "Manager Kim" dethroned "Teach You a Lesson," which had held No. 1 for four consecutive weeks, to take the new top spot. It was No. 1 in 11 countries, and the number of countries ranking it No. 1 more than doubled compared with the previous week, drawing attention.
Currently, "Manager Kim" has passed the midpoint and is heading into its latter half, and at the same time its ratings are soaring. After six episodes, according to Nielsen Korea, it recorded 23.2% in the Seoul metropolitan area, 22.3% nationwide, and a peak moment of 26.4%, setting a personal best. Excluding the highest rating of 29.2% for SBS Friday-Saturday series No. 1 "The Penthouse 2," it is the second highest to date, and expectations are rising as to whether it can break the elusive 30% mark.
The 10-episode "Manager Kim" will end on the 25th, followed by special broadcasts on July 31 and Aug. 1.
SBS officials told OSEN, "We are planning to broadcast two special episodes of 'Manager Kim.' The specific content is in the planning stage and will be announced later," they said, noting that the specials are intended to soothe the disappointment over the finale, and that the exact format has not yet been decided.<
