'The Return of SUPERMAN' GwakTube confessed the story of suddenly boarding a flight back to Korea during a World Cup match because of his deep affection for his son.
On the afternoon of the 15th, KBS2's The Return of SUPERMAN aired the episode "The prettiest you to me."
GwakTube said he had traveled to Mexico to enjoy soccer for the World Cup season but revealed the behind-the-scenes reason he suddenly decided to return. He stepped back on Korean soil just 10 days after leaving.
On that, GwakTube said, "I planned to stay only in North America for the entire World Cup period and had been talking about it since last year, but the World Cup overlapped with the 100th-day celebration," referring to the scheduling conflict with his son's 100-day celebration.
He said, "I thought it would be such a pity to miss Taesan's 100-day celebration. I made a bold decision," explaining that, as a soccer fan, he even gave up watching the much-anticipated Mexico match and endured more than 20 hours of flight time to fly back solely for his son. GwakTube added that interrupting his trip mid-schedule to return home was the first time in his seven years of traveling, expressing his surprise.
Along with this, GwakTube frankly confessed that as his son Taesan, whom he holds in his arms, grows, there has been a big change in his own feelings.
GwakTube said, "I can't be away for too long," sharing the emotions that came after becoming a father. He added, "When I see him on video calls he's different. When I see photos he's different. He's growing quickly," clearly showing the "son-obsessed" side of a father who doesn't want to miss a single moment of his child's rapid growth.
