KBS 2TV new weekend drama 'Love On The Menu' (directed by Hong Seok-gu / written by Lee Kyung-hee / produced by Monster Union, Contents G) released stills capturing the tense atmosphere of Kim Mu-jin (played by Ha Seok-jin) family.
The drama 'Love On The Menu,' scheduled to premiere at 8 p.m. on the 25th, is a family recipe drama about two men and women who gather the fragments of a broken family and prepare the warmest table of life in the world.
In the drama, Ha Seok-jin gives a passionate performance as Kim Mu-jin, the only son of the Oner family. Kim Mu-jin gave up his dream of becoming a chef in childhood due to his mother's opposition and was walking the path of the family business when he met Han Gyu-rim (played by Ahn Heeyeon) and chose love, leaving home. After experiencing the pain of separation and becoming a chef in Italy, he returns after eight years; the process of clearing up the old misunderstanding with his mother Hong Ok-seon and tearing down the walls of his heart is a key point to watch.
Jin Kyung plays Hong Ok-seon, the owner of Dongyun Group and the mother who anchors the story. Having lived fiercely after her husband's death, she knew her daughter Kim Yun-jin's superior abilities but tried to make her son the successor to avoid passing on the humiliation she suffered as a woman. However, when her son left because of love, she made the cold decision to sever ties. Portraying the mother's complex emotions who chose strictness under the pretext of doing what's best for her children, the performance is expected to heighten viewers' immersion.
Here, Miram supports the cast as Hong Ok-seon's eldest daughter and Kim Mu-jin's sister, Kim Yun-jin. Despite resembling her mother and having excellent management sense, she was pushed aside in the succession structure and had to tenaciously prove her abilities. Considering her younger brother a rival while holding deep affection, Yun-jin is expected to play the role of mediator between her sister who returned after eight years and their cold mother.
The production team said, "The sight of families armed with cold reason and logic gradually changing as they feel each other's warmth will be a major point to watch," adding, "The heavy emotional acting completed by Ha Seok-jin, Jin Kyung and Miram and the process of opening each other's closed hearts will deliver a painful yet warm resonance to home viewers."
