ZEROBASEONE (ZEROBASEONE) Sung Hanbin will serve as Mnet dance survival MC for the second consecutive year.
Sung Hanbin will meet viewers as the MC of Mnet's Street World Fighter: Director's War (hereafter "SDPF"), which premieres at 10 p.m. on Aug. 18.
"SDPF" is a new project in Mnet's original dance series that sparked a dance craze in Korea beginning with Street Woman Fighter. While the previous series highlighted competitions among world-class dancers, this season features performance directors who are responsible not only for choreography creation but also for blocking and stage direction, stepping forward as the protagonists to engage in fierce creative showdowns.
Sung Hanbin will host the Mnet dance series again following last year's World of Street Woman Fighter. As the leader of ZEROBASEONE and recognized for his outstanding performance skills, he is expected to vividly convey the program's tension and live atmosphere based on his high level of understanding as an active K-pop artist.
The newly released MC poster also raised anticipation for the premiere. Against a sensuous production that used intersecting light like a prism, Sung Hanbin overwhelmed viewers with deeper eyes and charisma. Attention is focused on his role as the host who will lead the contestants' fierce battles at the center of the competition for the best performance director.
Ahead of the premiere, Sung Hanbin said "As someone who loves dance, I'm truly honored to host once again," adding, "I will do my best this time as well to convey the fun and tension of the现场 to viewers."
He continued, "I carefully monitored 'World of WSWF' again and studied tone and pacing a lot," saying, "I prepared a lot to convey the program's energy and live atmosphere more vividly." It was reported that he showed affection for the program to the production team, even saying during filming, "job satisfaction is truly the highest."
He also pointed out the season's distinctive appeal. Sung Hanbin said, "If before the dopamine from dancers' moves and battles was the main draw, this time the dazzling ideas of the performance directors and the stage composition itself will be major viewing points," adding, "truly amazing works will appear."
Because he has worked closely with performance directors, this program also held special meaning for him. He said, "From a performer's perspective, the presence of a director who adds a professional viewpoint is reassuring and provides new inspiration," adding, "I think the process of creating the best stage together is more important than anything else."
He said the shoots were a strong stimulus. Sung Hanbin said, "Watching the mission to newly re-create the directors' signature choreography gave me a lot of inspiration," adding, "I also newly learned about the 'contemporary' style, and I was impressed enough to look up contestants' competition videos myself."
Finally, he asked viewers to tune in, saying, "I'm grateful to greet you as an MC again this year. I tried to convey the现场's heat as it is, so please show a lot of interest and love for 'SDPF' and for me, Sung Hanbin."
Meanwhile, Mnet's Street World Fighter: Director's War will premiere simultaneously on Mnet and tvN at 10 p.m. on Aug. 18, and will also be available on TVING.
