Actor Yoo Ah-in, who had received a suspended sentence on drug charges, was spotted at director Na Hong-jin's film "Hope" VIP premiere.
On the 13th, the VIP premiere for the film "Hope" was held at Megabox COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and numerous stars attended.
Blackpink Rosé, Jeesoo, Lee Ji-ah, Cha Taehyun, Ong Seongwu, Hong Hwa-yeon, Hyeri, Yum Jung-ah, Shim Eunkyung, Park Hae-soo, Lee Jung-jae, Yoo Tae-oh, Hong Ye Ji, Ku Sung-hwan, Jin Ki-joo and others lit up the event.
In particular, there were eyewitness reports that Yoo Ah-in attended the "Hope" premiere. He appeared wearing all-black clothing and a blue cap pulled low. Yoo Ah-in shook hands with acquaintances, exchanged greetings and smiled brightly.
It was also reported that Yoo Ah-in attended the VIP premiere with director Jang Jae-hyun, who directs his comeback film "Vampir."
"Vampir" is a vampire film inspired by Bram Stoker's classic novel Dracula, telling the story of a hunter who hunts vampires and a bride; actor Yoo Ah-in appears as the hunter, Lee Sung-min as the bride, and Yoon Kyung-ho is known to be joining the cast.
From September 2020 to March 2022, Yoo Ah-in habitually injected propofol and obtained sleeping pills through illegal prescriptions, and in January 2022 it became known that he smoked marijuana in the United States, provoking controversy. Yoo Ah-in, who was indicted in 2023 on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act, was sentenced in the first trial the following September to one year in prison and fined 2 million won. The prosecution appealed as the sentence was light, but at the second trial the sentence was reduced to one year in prison with a two-year suspended sentence and a fine of 2 million won, and the sentence was finalized by the Supreme Court in the third trial in July last year.
After Yoo Ah-in's suspended sentence was confirmed, less than half a year later news of his next project emerged, drawing continued criticism from netizens.
Regarding this, a representative of NEW, the investment and distribution company for "Vampir," told OSEN, "We are coordinating various actors including the mentioned actor," and said cautiously, "We will inform you when confirmed." However, Yoo Ah-in confirmed his comeback by attending the "Hope" VIP premiere with director Jang Jae-hyun.
