Comedian Lee Suji, 41, has been diagnosed with vocal cord nodules and will undergo surgery.
Agency CP Entertainment said on the 14th that "Lee Suji was recently diagnosed with vocal cord nodules and is scheduled to receive treatment based on medical staff opinions."
Lee Suji is currently meeting viewers through the SBS variety show "Uh, but like, seriously!" and her personal YouTube channel "Hot Issue Ji." As she completed enough recordings before going into surgery, the broadcast schedule is not expected to be affected.
The agency said, "Lee Suji plans to take time to recover and then continue activities," adding, "We will make sure she can return in good health."
Lee Suji has hit her stride, showcasing unrivaled character range on multiple variety programs including the Coupang Play comedy show "SNL Korea" and "Office Workers." By wittily parodying a variety of figures and buzzy content, she has cemented her status as a "trend-leading comedian."
She is also set to appear in ENA's new Monday-Tuesday drama "New Recruit 4: Sabotage," ahead of its broadcast.
