Amid growing controversy over singer Hwang Young-woong's participation in the OST, the production company of Recipe For Love issued a statement.
On the 14th, KBS2 weekend drama Recipe For Love (hereinafter Recipe For Love) told OSEN, "We are currently reviewing the matter legally and carrying out necessary procedures."
It added, "Our company is taking necessary measures regarding the use of audio tracks not used in broadcasts with the drama title, the KBS name and drama-related asset. We cannot comment on specific details related to the ongoing legal procedures."
OST producer NyamNyam Entertainment said that it will properly release the Recipe For Love OST featuring Hwang Young-woong. NyamNyam Entertainment said, "The OST sung by Hwang Young-woong is a track that was recorded in advance according to the OST production schedule, which releases songs sequentially along with the drama's broadcast," and added, "Although it is regrettable that the track will not be used in the drama, since the recording is already complete, we decided to release it on music platforms as scheduled to let fans and listeners hear it."
It added, "Recruitment of OST vocalists is a production task carried out by the OST producer according to contracts with the drama production company and proper copyright procedures," and "Our company proceeded with recruitment after determining there were no problems through the related procedures, and we did not forcibly push through any matter."
Hwang Young-woong withdrew in 2023 from MBN's 'Burning Trot Man' ahead of the final as allegations of school violence and other private life controversies were raised. After additional allegations of false credentials and family matters surfaced, he apologized and took time to reflect.
After his reflection, Hwang Young-woong returned with his first mini album and met fans through solo activities, but because of earlier controversies he was unable to participate in broadcasts and events. Then in January, he said, "A substantial portion of the allegations circulated so far have been maliciously edited or unilateral claims whose facts have not been verified," and added, "While Hwang Young-woong may have had fights or wanderings among friends during his school years, he clearly states that he did not continuously bully a specific person or commit sadistic acts as reported."
