Wanna One alumnus and actor Ong Seongwu expressed his thoughts on returning after discharge.
On the 14th at the Elliena Hotel in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, a production press conference was held for tvN's new Saturday-Sunday drama, Spooky in Love. Director Lee Min-soo and actors Park Eunbin, Yang Sejong and Ong Seongwu attended the press conference and talked.
Spooky in Love, based on the film of the same name, is an occult romance about a chaebol heiress who sees ghosts and a passionate prosecutor who is most afraid of ghosts.
In the work, Ong Seongwu plays Kang Min-hwan, a hotel heir full of ambition. When asked what Park Jihoon, a Wanna One member who succeeded with the hit The Legend of Kitchen Soldier, had told him about taking over the tvN drama baton, he said, "Jihoon and I usually exchange a lot of messages in the (Wanna One) group chat. I don't know if Jihoon said anything in particular, but when each of our dramas comes out we exchange things like, 'I'll be sure to watch.' I don't exactly remember who said what," conveying the support of the Wanna One members.
When asked if there was a difference in approaching projects after discharge, he said, "It was different. From the time I was about to be discharged I longed for it. I wanted to work quickly; it was a new beginning and I started with great ambitions, but although I acted tough I think I was very nervous inside. Maybe that's why when I went to the script reading my hands were shaking and my heart felt like it was going to jump out. It wasn't even my first time. Even after serving in the military I thought, so this is how much I still shake. Whenever you start something new or face a new task you feel trembling, nervousness and fear. Early on I thought a lot about letting go of that tension and drawing out the charm I can show."
Meanwhile, Spooky in Love will premiere on the 18th at 9:10 p.m.
