ENA's new variety show "Prince and the Pauper" released a second teaser video depicting harsh fates, officially opening the curtain on its winner-takes-all universe.
Prince and the Pauper, which premieres at 11:15 p.m. on the 27th (directed by Lee Tae-kyung, written by Jo Mi-hyun, produced by TEO), is a 6-night, 7-day winner-takes-all game travel variety show set in Egypt, where thousands of years of history live and breathe, featuring six idols (hereafter the "wanggeojeu"): Lee Teuk and Shindong (hereafter Super Junior), DUN, Kim Yo-han (WEi), Johnny and Jisung (hereafter NCT), who compete for the position of "prince."
The released second teaser begins with the caption "There are two types of people here" against the backdrop of a massive pyramid. The starkly contrasting images of members enjoying leisurely vacations as princes and those cast down as paupers completing missions on the burning desert clearly convey to viewers the universe Prince and the Pauper aims to portray.
In particular, this teaser captures the harsh fates of the wanggeojeu that diverge depending on game results, heightening anticipation for the premiere. While some display "visual prince" charm sparkling on a cruise, "reaction prince" energy that raises the game's mood, and a "humor prince" who risks diving and dancing, others alternate between "patient pauper" who cannot contain anger, "memorization pauper" who collapses before missions, and "stamina-drained pauper," creating a vivid survival story of six wanggeojeu that elicits laughter.
In the latter part of the video, the caption "This is a winner-takes-all variety show of six men" accompanies dynamic competition. In various missions such as a midnight chase and pulling a tablecloth, Lee Teuk's "I have to survive alone" and Jisung's "No matter what, I must become the prince" reveal the members' competitive drive.
