Actor Song Jong-ho said he opened a barbecue restaurant to make a living.
On the Dec. 12 broadcast of SBS My Little Old Boy, actor Song Jong-ho appeared as a new My Little Old Boy member.
That day Song Jong-ho surprised everyone by showing his face at the barbecue restaurant. He said he had been on an activity hiatus of more than about three and a half years since the 2023 tvN Aramun's Sword.
Having opened the barbecue restaurant to make a living, he prepared the business with staff, and especially after business started he personally did valet parking and greeted customers.
Among the staff working with him were junior actors. While talking with the juniors about auditions, Song Jong-ho lamented, "I want to keep acting and I have to make a living. My face is known and I've done many works, so there aren't many audition offers. I sometimes think it might be better to go to auditions separately."
Song Jong-ho also explained the reason he opened the barbecue restaurant, saying, "It has been about three and a half years since I worked as an actor. As work decreased and roles became smaller, I worried, 'If I can't do acting, how will I make a living?' At that time a senior offered a business partnership."
Meanwhile, Song Jong-ho gave a passionate performance as Yoon Tae-woong, Si-won's homeroom teacher and Yoon Yun-je's older brother, in the hugely successful 2012 series Reply 1997.
