MBC 'I Live Alone' solidified its position as Friday's top variety show by ranking first among 20-54 viewers for five consecutive weeks.
On the 10th, the broadcast of MBC 'I Live Alone' aired Yoon-hee of Girls' Generation's life in Jeju and the second story of the "1st Rainbow summer retreat," delivering both laughs and healing.
According to Nielsen Korea, that day's broadcast recorded a 6.9% household rating in the Seoul metropolitan area, claiming first place among Friday variety programs. In particular, the 20-54 rating, a key indicator of broadcast competitiveness, was 4.1%, putting the show at the top of the 20-54 variety program ratings for the second week of July 2026 and continuing a five-week streak at number one.
The day's top moment came when Yoon-hee completed and ate "pollock roe and seaweed pot rice" made with seaweed she harvested herself from the Jeju sea. The meal, featuring hand-canned seaweed and butter-grilled pollock roe, stimulated viewers' appetites, and the naturally eco-friendly daily life befitting her third year living in Jeju offered warm healing, sending the momentary peak rating up to 8.9%.
Yoon-hee, who revealed her Jeju life for the first time on 'I Live Alone,' drew attention with a humble charm different from her onstage charisma. She revealed an unadorned daily life, from realistic mornings wrestling with humidity and insects to riding a scooter along Jeju's coastal road, meeting the neighboring dog 'Ttonggeul-i,' and dining with the owner couple of a favorite restaurant. Her harvesting seaweed on the beach herself and completing dishes with seasonal ingredients elicited admiration from the Rainbow members.
The highlight of the ongoing "1st Rainbow summer retreat," the "rainbow night" talent show, also delivered big laughs. Jun Hyun-moo opened the show by transforming into "Muillit" and performing the "It's Mu" stage, followed by Ku Sung-hwan·Park Kyung-hye's "Candy in my ear," Bae Nara's "Thorn," Kian84 and Kim Dae-ho's "Comeback home" stages, which heated up the atmosphere in succession. Code Kunst's individual act and Lee Seon-min's comic performance added to the fun as members watched each other's stages and responded with lively reactions.
Minho's passionate performance and Kim Shin-young's perfect transformation into "Aunt Davi" for the "Within 10 minutes" stage instantly turned the venue into a festival. The "Sorrow" stage by the "Cooling Cooling" team, formed by Park Ji-hyun, Joy and Seo Bum-jun, received a warm response for its level of completion reminiscent of a music show.
After all the talent show performances ended, the vote was held, and after a fierce contest between Kim Shin-young and the "Cooling Cooling" team, Kim Shin-young became the winner of the grand prize. The Rainbow members shared the prize together and warmly concluded the first summer retreat.
Meanwhile, the next broadcast is expected to reveal Lee Ju-seung's new challenge as he transforms into "Director Lee" and the full-fledged running project of the "Real-run crew," featuring Kian84, Minho and Bae Nara.
