Only then did the father realize the seriousness and said, "If your ears are dull, the path to death comes sooner. I thought it was dangerous then." Park seojin said, "Lately when I look at dad, besides not being able to hear, he often forgets things. I was so shocked. I should have come a little earlier. Then we might have been able to prevent it earlier," expressing his remorse.
Park seojin's father said his condition had been poor for about eight years. At the time, because park seojin was in his struggling days, the father, not wanting to burden him, said, "Hearing aids were expensive. As a parent, I thought I was too much of a burden on my children," revealing the reason he had hidden it until now.
Park seojin said, "I earn money because I want to take good care of them, but when they avoid going because they think it's a burden, it upsets me each time."
In particular, the father worked at sea for more than 50 years and was exposed to engine noise, which likely accelerated his hearing loss. The doctor asked, "Hearing a lot of loud noise can be a cause of hearing decline. Haven't you ever been in danger while working on a ship?"
The father confessed, "I put my ship up for sale, but while working on the ship, even if my wife said a rope was wrapped around her foot, I couldn't hear and fell and almost fell into the sea. I thought I might go to the afterlife like this if I kept not hearing, so I decided to sell the ship. I went through many life-or-death moments."
Park seojin and park hyojeong were shocked to learn this for the first time, and the mother cried, "I didn't know he would think to that extent. I didn't even know it and screamed so much. I should have gone to the hospital with him earlier."
