Broadcaster Hong Hyun-hee finally showed tears after her son Jun-beom's first errand of his life.
On the 12th, a video titled "4-year-old's first errand in life" was released on the YouTube channel 'HongSseun TV'.
That day Jasson said "Shall we send Jun-beom on an errand?" expressing his desire to foster his son's independence. But Hong Hyun-hee said "He isn't even four yet, I don't think he can do it," unable to hide her worry.
After much deliberation, the couple decided to trust Jun-beom. Jun-beom was given his first errand mission to buy a toy car himself at a stationery store near the house. At first Jun-beom hesitated saying "I think it will be hard," but encouraged by his parents' "be brave" he set off spiritedly. The round trip from the house to the stationery store is about 1 km. Preparing for any unexpected situation, Hong Hyun-hee and Jasson followed behind unnoticed by their son to watch over him.
Contrary to nervousness, Jun-beom walked bravely, and watching his son's retreating figure, Hong Hyun-hee ultimately reddened around her eyes. Hong Hyun-hee honestly said, "Seeing him go this far away was very touching," adding, "It felt like watching a life. It seemed like seeing a child become independent, and I thought that parents are the ones who leave first."
During the errand, Jun-beom even went to the restroom by himself and paid the bill on his own, surprising his parents.
Watching this, Jasson said, "Parents should let their children have many of these experiences while watching from behind," adding, "Isn't the end of parenting independence? It seems really important to trust the child." Hong Hyun-hee and Jasson gave unabated applause and praise saying, "Our Jun-beom did it." It was a first-errand day neither the parents nor the child will forget.
