Singer Hye-eun confessed why she carried sleeping pills as she recalled the difficult times with panic disorder and hardships.
On the 11th, the MBN variety show Kim Ju-ha's Day and Night featured Hye-eun and Jeon Young-rok, who candidly shared the ups and downs of their lives and family stories.
That day Hye-eun expressed her affectionate feelings toward her two children.
Regarding the daughter from her first husband, "When she was young we couldn't raise her together for long, but I took care of her when she was in school, and I looked after her when she studied abroad," she said, adding with a smile, "Now she has a happy family, so I have nothing more to wish for."
Regarding the son from her second husband, "He is very afraid of being alone. That's why my son still hasn't become independent," she said, adding, "I feel sorry that it seems like I'm living off my son. I'm preparing for independence belatedly, but I'm not confident yet."
She went on to confess the difficult times due to panic disorder. She said, "Because of panic disorder I can't sleep. So I have to take medicine," and added, "When it was really hard bad thoughts came, so I carried a lot of sleeping pills," she said. But she calmly revealed, "I endured it thinking of my children," and "In 2017 I sorted out my surroundings. I also settled all my debts and paid them off by singing."
Hye-eun said she was able to get back on her feet through the KBS variety show Park Won-sook's Let's Live Together. She recalled, "Doing that program felt like being reborn," but added, "There was a time during filming when symptoms of panic disorder came, so we stopped filming and went to the hospital. That day's menu was maeuntang (spicy fish stew)."
She said she now lives under her son's warm care. Hye-eun said, "My son is a chef, and when he goes out he prepares all the food I will eat before he leaves. I feel both very sorry and grateful."
She added, "My married daughter always asks first what her mother wants to eat," and said, "I didn't have luck with husbands, but I seem to have luck with my children," which moved the audience.
