Appropriate physical contact among people who are close can be acceptable, but when boundaries are crossed it can make those around them uncomfortable. Recently, model and broadcaster Song Hae and mixed martial artist and broadcaster Choi Hong-man are examples of this.
Choi Hong-man posted a photo on the 11th saying, "Tzuyang 몇끼 많관부~ Saturday 7:50 p.m. ENA NXT K-STAR." But after the photo was released, the two people's unreal silhouettes and subtle poses have become a topic of conversation.
In the photo, Choi Hong-man poses as if supporting Tzuyang snugly in his massive arms, and Tzuyang smiles looking endlessly petite in his embrace.
The problem is that the two people's poses are subtle, prompting various reactions from netizens. Netizens were surprised by the close poses, saying, "It looks like she was sat on his lap and hugged," and "Isn't the physical contact too close?" On the other hand, some netizens reacted, "They look like a father and daughter," and "The daughter is pretty."
Earlier in March, footage was shown of Tzuyang going to meet Choi Hong-man. The manager said, "She said it's the first time she's seen a man she wants to protect," and Tzuyang explained, "He had difficulty eating during the shoot. I really can't refuse normally. Because he can't refuse or speak up like me.." Then Tzuyang revealed her fan feelings, saying, "I thought his first impression would be boisterous, but he's delicate. I'll protect him."
Tzuyang even asked Choi Hong-man for his contact information first. He said, "I've never seen anyone more timid than me. I want to look after him." He then revealed his inner thoughts, saying, "I may be too old, but I want to be friends."
Earlier, Song Hyeon-a's physical contact with model Lee Hyun-i's husband in front of Lee Hyun-i also sparked controversy. Last month Song Hae posted a photo in which she is in close physical contact with Lee Hyun-i's husband, Hong Seong-gi.
Song Hae leaned her face on Hong Seong-gi's shoulder and said, "Sister, is this man okay?" Watching the two's close physical contact, Lee Hyun-i shot back with a laser stare, "That man is my man."
Lee Hyun-i and Song Hae are close enough to have worked together as the tall team on SBS' Shooting Stars, and Song Hae made close physical contact saying the husband was fine. Linking arms and leaning her face on his shoulder, Song Hae also showed polite restraint by blocking physical contact between her face and Hong Seong-gi's shoulder with her left arm.
But one netizen pointed out, "You put your arm of someone else too close to the chest," expressing discomfort. Song Hae responded playfully, "Right. Noted."
