Actor Kim Seong-gyeom's surprise video letter moved the cast of "Goblin" to tears.
The third episode of tvN variety show "Together and radiant god - Goblin 10th anniversary trip" (directed by Hwang Da-won), which aired on the 11th, revealed the story of actors who held a special party in Gangneung to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the broadcast of the drama "Lonely and radiant god - Goblin." Gong Yoo, Lee Dongwook, Kim Go-eun, Yoo In-na, as well as Kim Byeong-cheol, Lee El, and Park Kyung-hye gathered in one place.
At the bonfire that day, a "Goblin 10th anniversary quiz contest" took place. Under the hosting of Yoo In-na, quizzes guessing famous scenes and lines from the drama and behind-the-scenes filming details continued, and the actors fueled their competitive spirits, heating up the scene.
Gong Yoo and Kim Go-eun showed passion for getting the answers right, and Lee Dongwook surprised everyone by accurately naming the premiere date and the highest ratings moment, showing off his unexpected "memory master" side. Park Kyung-hye's "superfan" performance and the surprising variety show skills of Kim Byeong-cheol and Lee El added to the laughter.
Through the quiz, famous scenes from the drama were summoned again. The buckwheat field kiss between Kim Shin and Eun-tak, Sunny and the grim reaper's first meeting, the Samshin's embrace, Park Joong-heon's demise, and Kim Shin's proposal had the actors vividly recalling the filming site at the time.
Various behind-the-scenes stories were revealed in the process. From the fact that Sunny's signature gun-shooting gesture was born from Lee Dongwook's ad-lib to the episode that Gong Yoo and Kim Go-eun filmed the ending scene in Canada before the full script was completed, the stories added interest.
Gong Yoo recalled the farewell scene with Eun-tak and said, "It was the coldest shoot across all my works," and Kim Go-eun also said that thanks to director Lee Eung-bok's consideration she was able to focus on emotional acting even in the severe cold. Most of all, the person who sent the final video letter was actor Kim Seong-gyeom, who is 85 this year. He, who played Chairman Yoo in the drama, made the actors choke up at once with his opening greeting, "Na-euri, it's been 10 years since I last saw you."
Kim Seong-gyeom expressed his affection, saying, "Gong Yoo, even after a long time you seem like someone I always see. I feel an inexplicable intimacy and I like it very much. Yoo In-na said, "Even after 20 or 30 years, Gong Yoo oppa will forever be all of our Goblin," and the actors looked at each other as they recalled 10 years.
