Actor Namkoong Min revealed the love story that led from his first meeting with his wife Jin Ah-reum to marriage after two months of courtship.
On the 10th, actor Namkoong Min appeared as a guest on KBS2 Problem Child in House that aired that day.
That day Namkoong Min recalled the days when he was once called the 'lookalike of Bae Yong-joon' and said, "In the past I was often told, 'You don't have your own vibe. Try taking off your glasses,'" and added, "After I started taking off my glasses I heard people say, 'He looks like Namkoong Min.'"
He continued jokingly, "I have accumulated so much that now I think I'd be better at playing a villain than doing comedy," and the cast responded, "Your eyes earlier were really scary," which drew laughs.
Having married after an eight-year relationship and now in his fourth year of marriage, Namkoong Min also revealed his first meeting with his wife Jin Ah-reum.
He said, "I was holding casting auditions for a film I directed myself, and among the four or five people she stood out," and admitted, "Looking back now, it seems it was personal interest." He went on to explain, "We finished shooting in two days because of a lack of production funds. Coincidentally, my friend's an acting teacher of my future wife, so we naturally exchanged contact information, and the three of us had an opportunity to meet."
Namkoong Min said, "My wife was really kind and pure. I decided, 'I'll summon the courage to ask this person out,' and after courting her for two months we began dating."
But his first confession failed. Namkoong Min confessed, "At first my confession was rejected," and laughed, "I lacked courage so I relied on the power of alcohol. If I had approached slowly it would have naturally continued, but because I'm impatient I just went straight for it." He added, "From my wife's point of view it must have been too sudden. At first she said she thought I was a playboy because I was an entertainer."
Regarding the confession line at the time he said, "I drank and just asked, 'Wanna date?'" and self-criticized, "That too-casual confession seems to have been the problem," which brought laughter.
