As news of singer IU's breakup emerged, 'close friend' Yoo In-na's revelations about IU's extreme dating style are being reexamined.
On the 10th, Lee Jong-suk's agency Ace Factory told OSEN, "(Lee Jong-suk and IU) have indeed broken up. They decided to remain good colleagues."
However, regarding the reasons for the breakup, they withheld comment, saying, "As it concerns the actor's private life, please understand that we cannot provide further answers." Meanwhile, Yoo In-na's cautionary remarks about IU's dating style are drawing attention.
Earlier in April, a video titled "완성_커플_캠퍼스.ver_찐최종" was uploaded to Yoo In-na's "Yoo In Radio" channel. In that video, actor IU and Byeon Woo-seok, who co-starred in "Perfect Crown," appeared as guests and talked.
They proceeded to play a balance game matching the stories. The content was, "Which dating style is more exhausting? 1. A thoughtless robot-like partner who, when I suggest where to go, says 'fine, whatever you like' and follows without spirit. 2. A human alarm partner who schedules every minute, and even if I say I'd like to rest a bit at the café says 'no, the next place reservation is in 10 minutes' and pushes me along."
Hearing this, IU and Byeon Woo-seok were taken aback, saying "That's extreme," and Yoo In-na said, "That's how balance games are," asking, "Then let's choose the better side. Which do you think is better?"
IU chose number 2, and Byeon Woo-seok chose number 1, attracting attention. Yoo In-na asked, "If you are like that, can you lead?" Byeon Woo-seok replied, "I can lead to some extent. But if it's too much, I want to rest but I don't think I would be able to."
She then asked IU, "Do you like something that's suffocating? Do you like being tightly controlled with 'we have to go now'?" IU joked, "I like it a lot. Just thinking about it makes me so happy."
He said, "If it's like number 1, I think I'd be too drained. I'm good at accommodating. So 'we need to move now, we have to take a photo at that spot'—that would still be cute, I think."
But Yoo In-na snapped, "Don't be ridiculous. Ms. IU. I said don't be ridiculous." Well known as IU's close friend, she said, "With IU, if you say 'let's do it this way' she goes along. If she's drained to a dangerous level she should give a signal that she's drained, but she does everything. Then she collapses and ends up in the hospital. How frustrating is that?"
Yoo In-na warned, "So from now on, please at least choose number 1," and IU agreed, "Number 1 might be better for me." Yoo In-na repeatedly urged, "Yes. Don't collapse like that anymore. Understand?" and IU nodded, "I understand."
Meanwhile, IU and Lee Jong-suk began a public relationship in 2022. At the time, after Lee Jong-suk won the grand prize at the MBC Drama Awards and referred to "that person," their relationship became public. Later, the agency officially acknowledged the relationship, saying, "They developed from close colleagues into a romantic relationship recently and are continuing a serious relationship." But with the recent breakup, the two have returned to being colleagues about four years after going public.
