Eating show YouTuber and broadcaster Tzuyang revealed the reason she closed the restaurant she used to run.
On the 9th, a video titled "You thought it was ruined..? the reason I cleared out the entire shop.." was uploaded to Tzuyang's YouTube channel.
That day Tzuyang visited her snack shop located on Turtle Island near Seoul. She said, "Some of you may know, but this is a surfing spot. It's summer, so I came for an inspection today. It was an unannounced inspection, but I did notify them beforehand. They're cleaning diligently. I actually come here every summer. Surfing in the sea is affected by the weather and the waves, but here the waves come consistently, so it was fun and I was once really into it," she explained.
Later, looking at the snack shop menu, Tzuyang said, "If anyone liked budae tteokbokki or jjamppong tteokbokki, I'm sorry but they are not available now. I want to eat them too. I personally liked them a lot. The cooking time took so long and the order volume itself decreased, so we couldn't do them and the menu was completely changed," and added, "I came to see if things were being maintained well."
Entering the shop, Tzuyang ordered several signature dishes and began tasting them. She said, "Actually I got a lot of comments. Why did the snack shop and the tonkatsu place disappear? While doing broadcasts together I felt I couldn't pay enough attention, and there were many worries, so I decided to close until I have a little more time and can do it again. Everything closed, but one place remains," she confessed.
She went on, "I realized that I really couldn't multitask while running the shop. When we first opened, I was at the shop from morning to night, and I had to go film in between, but I couldn't focus on filming at all. I couldn't eat much. Because I was busy with the shop I couldn't pay attention to uploads properly, and that led to many fights with the producer," she recalled, describing the difficulties of running the restaurant.
Tzuyang said, "We tried to divide things appropriately — sometimes half would appear, sometimes not — and once things settled a bit it appeared occasionally, but as time passed I felt I couldn't pay enough attention. Until I quit, though I'm embarrassed to say it, my popularity remained high even then. People would say they came to see me but I wasn't there. If I have more leeway with broadcasting, I'll reconsider then," and she added, "I thank those who visited once or several times."
She added, "I came to the snack shop for an unannounced inspection after a long time today. It's not that it's not tasty, but I saw shortcomings that I'll keep coming back to improve, so I'll try to make it tastier."
