Actress Yoo Hye-jung opened up candidly about her recent life with her 26-year-old daughter, whom she raised alone after her divorce, revealing her honest feelings.
On the 9th broadcast, MBN 'Exclusive World' featured 1990s youth star Yoo Hye-jung, who shared her life story.
That day Yoo Hye-jung recalled her past, when her marriage to an athlete drew attention, saying "I thought marriage was a good fate, so I did it," and added calmly, "Not all endings are the same just because they are endings. There are different pictures, and now that, too, has become a memory."
She went on, "After seven years of marriage we chose our own paths," and said it has been 18 years since the divorce. She recalled returning to her parents' home with her young daughter at the time and starting a new life in her mid-30s.
Yoo Hye-jung said, "I divorced by my choice, but I thought my choice shouldn't make my bright child suffer," and expressed gratitude, "I tried very hard so there would be no empty space for my child. I became a parent at a young age, but the adults around me warmly filled that void, and thanks to them Gyu-won grew up well."
The broadcast also revealed Yoo Hye-jung's recent life focused solely on her daughter. The daughter, Seo Gyu-won, who had appeared with her on past broadcasts, is now 26 and drew attention by appearing as a working professional.
Yoo Hye-jung choked up, saying, "There was a time when I was financially struggling. Each time that happened my heart dropped," and added, "There were times I wondered if all those things stressed my daughter, if it was my fault."
In response, her daughter Gyu-won said, "I think the sadness behind joy is a beautiful feeling. With sadness, joy becomes two or three times greater," and instead comforted her mother.
At her daughter's words, Yoo Hye-jung warmly embraced her, saying, "Let's do our best," and the mother and daughter, who have been each other's support for a long time, moved viewers deeply.
