Actor Kang Ye-won took to the streets to promote her channel.
On the 9th Kang Ye-won posted a video titled "With actor younger siblings and Culinary Class Wars omakase (+Ko Kyu-phil, Kim Ki-nam)" on her YouTube channel Gwang Ye-won.
In the video Kang Ye-won greeted pedestrians on the street, asking "Hello, do you know who I am, I'm Kang Ye-won," then saying "I started YouTube, so I'm handing out business cards," as she handed out business cards herself. It's a novel way for a celebrity to ask ordinary citizens for subscriptions face to face.
Kang Ye-won asked students inside a shop, "Do you know who I am?" and received the answer "No." Kang Ye-won's disappointed expression, as if hurt, brought out a bittersweet reaction. Another citizen said, "I saw you on My Little Old Boy," and subscribed on the spot, and Kang Ye-won repeatedly expressed her gratitude.
Kang Ye-won told the production staff, "Do you know how embarrassed I am? This is the first time I've ever done this," yet she focused intently on promoting among citizens. Even when asked for photos she readily agreed, "Yes, that's fine," showing a down-to-earth and friendly manner.
She showed enthusiasm, saying, "I even handed out business cards at Yongsan Electronics Market like Jensen Huang," and a bakery owner came out saying he was a "fan" and handed Kang Ye-won several pieces of bread. Moved by the unexpected attention and gifts, Kang Ye-won said, "I'm so touched," and thanked them.
Kang Ye-won worked hard "selling" among subway passengers. She said, "At first I was embarrassed, but now I can go into every shop," showing confidence. Kang Ye-won succeeded in a whirlwind sales push of 50 people.<
