Actor Namkoong Min candidly revealed the moment that makes him most angry on set.
On the 10th broadcast of KBS2 Problem Child in House, actor Namkoong Min appeared as a guest.
Namkoong Min, who won the acting grand prize three times for 'Stove League', 'The Veil' and 'Lovers', said the representative character Baek Seung‑soo and his real personality are different. Namkoong Min said, "Baek Seung‑soo of 'Stove League' is a completely different person from me," adding, "I am not good at speaking bluntly to someone's face, and even if I have something to say, I tend to hold back."
He went on to say that the situations that actually make him angry are "when working on set." He said, "Passion is important, but I think you must have a professional mindset," and added, "I get angry when people try to take shortcuts, fail to concentrate, or deliver less than 100 percent in a perfunctory way."
He added, "I'm not the type to yell at people in front of others. I tend to speak calmly."
Upon hearing this, Hong Jin Kyung improvised a skit on the spot by playing the role of a perfunctory junior. When Hong Jin Kyung cheekily replied, "I'll handle it," Namkoong Min said, "I can't stand this," making the set burst into laughter. He also explained, "In reality, juniors listen seriously and well."
Now in his 28th year since debut, Namkoong Min said he feels the changes brought by time. He said, "Now when I go to a set, most people are juniors. Directors are mostly younger than me," and laughed, "Being a senior doesn't mean being an older 'teacher' age." He went on to say that the atmosphere on set has changed, noting, "In the past juniors greeted with a perfect 90‑degree bow, but these days they say, 'We'll do it again,' and create a more relaxed atmosphere."
