Group NCT member Taeyong has been continuing his support for multicultural students who immigrated to Korea mid-childhood for 11 years, drawing attention.
On the 9th, Seoul DaAe Multicultural School said Taeyong donated 30 million won on the 4th of last month for multicultural students who immigrated mid-childhood and visited DaAe Multicultural School on the 29th of the same month to encourage the students.
According to DaAe Multicultural School, Taeyong began his support for multicultural students in 2016, and this year marks the 11th year. Over the past 11 years, the donations have already exceeded 100 million won.
The scholarship Taeyong gives to multicultural students who were born in other countries and moved to Korea, where language and culture are unfamiliar, during lonely and difficult times has reportedly been a great help.
Accordingly, several students have entered Kyunghee University, University of Seoul, Sungkyunkwan University, Chung-Ang University, Korea National University of Arts, Sogang University and others, or have succeeded in getting jobs as hair designers, chefs and so on, and are active in various fields. Afterwards they return to DaAe Multicultural School and carry out volunteer activities such as mother-tongue mentoring and study assistance for juniors, continuing a virtuous cycle of sharing.
Regarding Taeyong's support, Lee Hee-yong, principal of DaAe Multicultural School, expressed gratitude, saying Taeyong has been with the multicultural students for 11 years and they are thankful for his continued support and interest. She said thanks to Taeyong's warm heart, multicultural students are receiving diverse education and growing into healthy citizens of Korea.
Meanwhile, Taeyong was active after releasing his first full-length album WYLD on May 18.
