Actor Park Ji-hwan continues his hot streak by joining director Min Jin-ki's new work "Sunning Baseball Team".
On the 9th, OSEN reported that Park Ji-hwan has confirmed his appearance in the new drama "Sunning Baseball Team." This makes him part of a solid casting lineup alongside Oh Jung-se, Jeon Hye-jin and Joo Hyun-young, who had previously announced their participation.
"Sunning Baseball Team" is a work that depicts married men who worry more about getting home on time than the game's outcome and participate every weekend in the "wife permission league." It portrays the struggles of fathers who find themselves again through recreational baseball, offering viewers deep empathy and cheerful laughs.
In the series, Park Ji-hwan plays a core member of the married men's baseball team, showcasing his unique and distinctive acting. Having shown limitless ability to inhabit characters across genres, expectations are already high for his "everyday life–rooted comedy acting" in this work.
Park Ji-hwan, who debuted in the 2006 film "A Love" (Korean title: 짝패), has stood out as a scene-stealer in numerous works such as the film "Hansan: Rising Dragon," the drama "Our Blues," and the Netflix series "Gyeongseong Creature." In particular, he left a strong impression on the public by building an irreplaceable character as Jang I-soo in the film series "The Outlaws." Recently, following the box office success of the 10-million-audience film "The King's Warden," he continued his busy career by announcing his appearance in the film "The Taste of Prison."
Meanwhile, "Sunning Baseball Team" is a new work directly planned by star producer-director Min Jin-ki, who directed "SNL Korea," "Blue Tower" and the "New Recruit" series. The script is written by writer Yoon Ki-young, who worked with director Min on "New Recruit 3" and "New Recruit 4," raising its completeness.
"Sunning Baseball Team" is likely to be scheduled as a TVING original series and is expected to be released in the second half of 2027.<
