Actress Jeon Hye-won stars in her first leading role through A Trap Called Desire.
Ahead of its premiere on Aug. 10, KBS2's new daily drama A Trap Called Desire (written by Koo Ji-won, directed by Lee Dae-kyung and Jung Kwang-soo) released stills of Jeon Hye-won, who takes on her first lead role since debut.
The first stills encapsulated at a glance the narrative of Go Eun-seol, in which her bright, innocent past and tragic present intersect. It shows the dramatic transformation of a character by contrasting a girl who once had the talent and passion to win art competitions with the moment she falls into ruin.
In the drama, Go Eun-seol, played by Jeon Hye-won, grew up as a beloved daughter in her adoptive parents' care but had her life taken away by a murder accusation. Despite an unfair fate, she is a strong character who fights to the end for the truth, refusing to give up her life and struggling to clear her name.
Jeon Hye-won will take on her first leading role as Go Eun-seol, who leaves behind a time filled with love and dreams to confront a huge secret, and is expected to deliver a powerful presence. Attention is focused on Jeon Hye-won's performance leading the drama's revenge narrative as Go Eun-seol's journey to reclaim her stolen life and the truth unfolds.
The production team raised expectations, saying, "Even from the stills alone, the contrasting emotional line that naturally reveals Go Eun-seol's dramatic situation is clear. From the first shoot, actress Jeon Hye-won immersed herself in the character and balanced past innocence with present wounds. Her performance is so steady that it's hard to believe this is her first lead role, so we hope you look forward to her future activities."
