Girl group TWICE's Sana will take on acting and make her screen debut 11 years after her debut.
On the 8th, OSEN reported that Sana recently received a script offer for a new film titled "Nyang-i" (working title) and decided to appear. It is Sana's first acting challenge and film debut after debuting as an idol and receiving global love.
"Nyang-i" is a Korea-Japan co-production project, with Japan's top actor Sato Takeru and Sana starring as the male and female leads. Director Kwon Hyuk-chan will direct, and Cokes·Anpio·Japan's JACON will handle production. Korean production companies Cokes and Anpio will operate the production directly. Location shooting will begin in Japan in the second half of this year, and the staff will be composed entirely of Korean personnel.
Debuting in 2015, TWICE has maintained a tight-knit relationship with all nine members intact without any member changes or departures to date. Although more than 10 years have passed since debut, they still boast a powerful global fandom and remain very popular. At the same time, members including Dahyun, Jeongyeon and Sana are expanding their activity spectrum by entering acting as well as singing.
In particular, Sana is raising expectations by making her screen debut through the Korea-Japan joint film "Nyang-i." Interest is focused on her collaboration with Sato Takeru, who is called a "master of romance" and has many fans domestically. There is anticipation about whether Sana will be able to show a different, surprising charm from her idol days and what acting synergy she and Sato Takeru will display.
Meanwhile, TWICE is conducting the world tour "This is for (THIS IS FOR)", and will hold the final performances at Seoul KSPO DOME from the 10th to the 12th.
