Kihyun released his second solo mini album, "BORDERLINE," and made a comeback on the 7th. It is a solo album released about 3 years and 9 months later, showcasing Kihyun's musically deeper growth.
Kihyun's new solo record has been praised by foreign media immediately after its release. The U.S. business magazine Forbes described "BORDERLINE" as "a sincere work that, based on 10 years since debut, reflects the present self beyond youth," and introduced the music video by saying, "Rather than being trapped in the constant pressure to find the right answer or to be relied on by someone, what stands out is the image of confronting and fighting it head-on."
Forbes also evaluated that it depicts a journey of finding "oneself," noting the message that delivers empathy and resonance.
Global fans' reactions are also hot. "BORDERLINE" ranked 21 on the worldwide iTunes album chart immediately after its release. It also topped the iTunes top 100 K-pop album charts in five countries, including Australia, Finland, and the Netherlands. In addition, it placed within the top five in 12 countries, including No. 3 in the United States, Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, Japan, and Mexico.
Kihyun is not only promoting solo but is also participating in Monsta X's world tour.
