Broadcaster Lee Sang-min delicately read the complex emotional lines of the residents on "Heart Signal 5," showing himself to be both an empath and an analysis master.
On the July 7 episode of Channel A "Heart Signal 5," as the residents' crossing love lines deepened, Lee Sang-min probed their psychology with a keener eye than anyone.
Lee Sang-min, seeing Kim Min-ju finally shed tears in front of her biological sister Kim Gyuri, also shed tears with her. He said, "If even those of us who are not family feel this upset, how much more upset must her sister be," deeply sympathizing with Kim Min-ju's feelings, and he moved viewers by sensing the situation of someone who had long swallowed their emotions alone.
Then, during scenes where the male cast members' true feelings were exchanging, his characteristic analytical skills shone. When Jung Jun-hyun revealed his feelings for Kang Yoo-kyung, Lee Sang-min pointed out, "The important thing is that Park Woo-yeol's gaze changed," and coldly analyzed the situation, saying, "After the love room, he seems to like Kang Yoo-kyung more, and conversely his anxiety has grown. Now the initiative has passed to Kang Yoo-kyung."
He showed warm attention to Kim Sung-min's complicated emotions. When told that he cannot distinguish between personal attraction and romantic interest, he made a cheerful joke, "At this rate I'll tell even people who just pass by," eliciting laughter, while not missing his sincerity.
Especially when Kim Min-ju learned that Kim Sung-min was heading straight for Kang Yoo-kyung and finally burst into tears, Lee Sang-min said, "It must be a complex emotion mixing pity for foolish Kim Sung-min and hurt," explaining Kim Min-ju's inner feelings on her behalf and drawing sympathy.
At the end of the broadcast, he drew attention by comparing the love lines of Jung Jun-hyun and Park Woo-yeol to a soccer match. Lee Sang-min said, "With five minutes of added time left, Park Woo-yeol feels anxious that he might concede a goal, and Jung Jun-hyun is doing his best until the end and is shaking Kang Yoo-kyung's heart," and sharply unraveled Kang Yoo-kyung's still undecided feelings.
