NEWBEAT member Park Min-seok heated up Japan and opened the curtain on a successful acting-idol run.
On the 8th, according to agency Beat Interactive and others, Park Min-seok attended the screening of episode 1 of Tokyo MX's new drama Your Sky ハレノチ恋 (Your Sky harenochi koi) held at Tokyo Big Sight International Conference Center in Tokyo on the 5th, and had a meaningful first meeting with local fans.
The screening sold out, making tangible the local interest and popularity for Park Min-seok in Japan. At the event, Park Min-seok not only watched episode 1 of the drama for the first time with fans who filled the theater, but also shared in-depth stories about the work and a variety of behind-the-scenes filming stories, captivating fans with his signature warm charm.
In particular, Park Min-seok and Japanese actor Nakayama Keigo, who plays Ichinomura Riku in the drama, reproduced memorable scenes from the drama on stage, raising the atmosphere and eliciting enthusiastic cheers and applause from the audience.
In the middle of the screening, a surprise video message from NEWBEAT members supporting Park Min-seok's solo activities was revealed. Moved by his members' deep loyalty, Park Min-seok said, "I am always with the members but being active alone in Japan made me feel lonely and I missed them; it really gave me great strength," and his eyes welled up. He added, "I am still lacking and clumsy, but I am studying Japanese hard, so please continue to look kindly on me and take care of me," conveying a sincere impression that moved local fans.
Park Min-seok's first acting project, Your Sky ハレノチ恋 (Your Sky harenochi koi), is a Japanese remake of the BL drama Your Sky, which was a mega hit in Thailand in 2024, adapted with a Japanese sensibility. It depicts the romance between pure, positive Hinata (played by Fukuda Ayuta) and Sora (played by Aihara Isshin), a tsundere senior known as the "tyrant prince" on campus. In the drama, Park Min-seok plays the Korean exchange student Moon Da-on, who possesses a mysterious charm and injects vitality into the story. It will premiere on Aug. 2 at 1:30 a.m.
Park Min-seok's group NEWBEAT (Park Min-seok·Hong Min-seong·Jeon Yeo-yeojeong·Choi Seo-hyun·Kim Tae-yang·Jo Yun-hoo·Kim Ri-woo) distinguished itself in the global music market with their mini album 1 released last November and its double title track Look So Good, achieving six No. 1s across Amazon Music in the U.S., placing on YouTube Music's top 100 chart, and more. They also won the rookie award at the 17th 2025 Seoul Success Awards and recently completed activities in China and their first nationwide debut tour successfully.<
