"Love On The Menu" Ahn Heeyeon and Bae Jeong-nam become a relationship that provides warm comfort to each other.
The new KBS 2TV weekend drama Love On The Menu (directed by Hong Seok-gu, written by Lee Kyung-hee), which premieres at 8 p.m. on the 25th, is a family recipe drama about a man and a woman who piece together the fragments of a broken family and set the warmest table of life in the world.
In the drama, Ahn Heeyeon plays Han Gyurim, a hardworking side-dish shop employee, and Bae Jeong-nam plays Jo Hungsik, a rough but warmhearted man from Busan. The two have lived different lives.
Stills released on the 7th capture the two's unexpected first meeting. Han Gyurim finds Park Sunam (played by Kang Ae-sim) collapsed on the street, accompanies her to the hospital, then contacts her family and displays an uncommon sense of justice. Jo Hungsik, who rushes to the hospital after learning the news late, tries to thank Han Gyurim for helping his mother, but she waves him off and quietly leaves.
Jo Hungsik, seeing his mother open her eyes, appears choked with emotion at her side and vows to find Han Gyurim and repay her kindness.
Another still captures Jo Hungsik quietly watching over a troubled Han Gyurim. Though he is not talkative, his steadfast presence conveys warm consideration, hinting at the growing trust and emotional changes that will slowly build between the two.
The production team said, "Jo Hungsik and Han Gyurim are warm presences who become reliable pillars for each other. In moments of difficulty they quietly stay by one another and gradually grow accustomed to each other. Based on this familiar chemistry they have built, we hope viewers will comfortably enjoy the story that will unfold along with the small changes the two will face."
