Broadcaster Ji Yeon-su revealed that she has wrapped up her life in Jeju and returned to be beside her mother, who is battling cancer. She also shared that she started anew with her son while working part-time at a beef soup restaurant to make a living.
On the 6th, a video titled 'Ji Yeon-su's first solo home reveal!!!' was posted on the YouTube channel 'Ji Yeon-su's Yeonsurobda.'
That day Ji Yeon-su first revealed the roughly 15-pyeong duplex home where she lives with her son Minsu. The first floor had a living room and kitchen, and the second floor had a master room doubling as a study and a small living room, making for a cozy space.
While introducing the home, he honestly confessed, "When I watch celebrity YouTubers, their homes are really glamorous and pretty. I feel embarrassed and worried that mine will be compared."
She continued, "Some people might think, 'Do they raise a child in such a small house?' but I believe that children grow up well even in spaces smaller than our home. If they eat well, live cleanly and have enough love, I think they can grow up healthy anywhere," she said, expressing her conviction.
She also revealed the reason she wrapped up her life in Jeju. Ji Yeon-su said, "I was doing well in Jeju, but I learned that my mother had been diagnosed with cancer," and explained, "I wanted to be close to my mother, so I hurriedly settled everything and came up."
She said she is currently working part-time at a beef soup restaurant to make a living. She outlined her daily routine, saying, "I prefer to go to work in the morning and work at a place where lunch service is busy," and "after finishing work I take care of Minsu in the afternoon."
She said that after TV CHOSUN's 'We Got Divorced 2' she received several offers to appear in programs with her son but turned them all down. Ji Yeon-su said, "If I only thought about money it would have been right to appear, but since I already once did a program that Minsu did not permit, I did not want to do that anymore," and she explained, "I want to appear together later when Minsu himself says he wants to be on a show."
She added with a laugh, "Minsu said, 'If subscribers reach 1 million, I'll make a special appearance.'"
Meanwhile, Ji Yeon-su married former U-KISS member Elly in 2014 and had a son, Minsu, but they divorced in 2020. Since then she has been raising her son alone, and her ex-husband Elly attracted attention last month when he announced his remarriage.
