He continued, "If my mother happens to watch this broadcast, I am sorry and I want to say I love you. I'm sorry for being born as your son. I caused you so much worry. If there is another life, I want to live again as my mother's son. See you again, mother. I love you," and cried.
At the singing contest, Iru performed his signature song that his mother liked, 'Black glasses.' Iru said, "It's been a long time, especially singing in front of my father makes me nervous. Because of the program, many people saw our family's life and offered support and encouragement. This program is very grateful to me," expressing his gratitude.
Iru then performed 'Ok-gyeong-i,' which his mother liked. Taejin-ah, who was sitting in the judges' seats, also went up on stage and sang together. Iru explained that he would go straight home after the performance, adding that it was to care for his mother.
Meanwhile, Iru caused controversy over two drunk driving incidents. Iru was sentenced to six months in prison with a one-year suspension and fined 100,000 won for speeding. He apologized, saying, "From now on I will reflect, not act beyond common sense, and do my best to live."
