Shin Gi-ru visited Heo ANNA's house. Shin Gi-ru prepared an enormous amount of food. Shin Gi-ru said, "Anna was having a really hard time. I also recently suffered the loss of my mother. Having someone by your side, even if it seems like nothing, gives strength. Anna said she couldn't eat, so I fed her and tried to heal together," explaining why she visited Heo ANNA's house.
Heo ANNA said, "I feel depressed as soon as I open my eyes. My older sister is amazing. She tries to get rid of sad thoughts," and Shin Gi-ru said, "After the funeral, if you rest four to five days you always go somewhere. If showing it solves it, then you'll show it," referring to the mother's death she experienced three months earlier.
Heo ANNA asked, "You didn't have a sense of taste back then, did you?" and Shin Gi-ru said, "I didn't lose smell or taste even during COVID, but after sending my mother off my mind and body ached and it all came at once. My mother passed away in mid-March, but even before then every day was a critical moment… After the funeral I came home and thought, 'I should eat something,' and ordered sushi. Tuna and egg tasted the same," recounting the experience of losing her appetite.
Shin Gi-ru added, "When I couldn't taste, I had no will to live. That day I ordered whelk. It was tangy, a little sour. It was sour but otherwise tasteless. Right before bed I ordered cream soup. They said you have to stimulate it with something like pepper. I even tried cilantro."
Shin Gi-ru said she finally regained her sense of taste after trying many foods and explained, "I ate charcoal-grilled barbecue. It came back at JiXX Chicken. When you are so sad you try to forget by eating, and if even that doesn't work I wondered how I should live. I ate 20 different foods over two days. You have to eat especially at times like this. I'm the only one who will protect me."
