Box-office director Jang Hang-jun joins "Time Tracker Seolrok" as MC following his appearance on KBS2's Happy Together.
Jang Hang-jun, Bong Tae Gyu, and Shin A-young come together for the history talk show "Time Tracker Seolrok," which premieres on July 14 at 10:30 p.m.
The SBS Plus program "Time Tracker Seolrok" is a history-tracing entertainment show that fills in the blanks left by records. By uncovering the stories hidden behind a single line of record, it will offer reversals and fresh shocks that make us look at the history we thought we knew in a new way.
Movie-tainer director Jang Hang-jun, famed for his "god-given wit," appears as the main MC, drawing attention. Director Jang Hang-jun, who sparked a box-office sensation with the film The King's Warden, which drew 17 million viewers, now takes on the role of history talk show MC, continuing a path that suits the description "period drama is a personal color." Known for being a well-read intellectual and a witty conversationalist, he is expected to lead the program with colorful talks that traverse official histories and unofficial accounts.
Adding a different perspective, actor Bong Tae Gyu and broadcaster Shin A-young, a graduate of Harvard University's history department, complete a richer talk synergy. History storyteller Sun Kim, who covers both Korean and world history, lends support.
Along with this, the official poster for "Time Tracker Seolrok" was also released, drawing attention. Transformed into detective Sherlock Holmes, Jang Hang-jun tracks history with a sharp gaze, and Bong Tae Gyu and Shin A-young are each shown eagerly deducing clues in history. Set against backgrounds that traverse past and present, the copy "awakening the secrets of history, a time-transcending history talk show" heralds their thrilling journey and raises expectations.
Meanwhile, the film The King's Warden, which opened in February this year, drew 16.89 million viewers, climbing to second place in all-time box-office rankings. Although its total audience ranked second after The Admiral: Roaring Currents (17.61 million), its cumulative box-office revenue surpassed 163 billion won, reaching first place and creating a nonstop phenomenon throughout its run.
After the success of The King's Warden, Jang Hang-jun was chosen as an MC for KBS2's new variety show Happy Together - I'm glad I'm not alone alongside Yu Jae-seok and Yoon Jongshin, and he is actively working as he was also cast in SBS Plus's "Time Tracker Seolrok."
